About Me

Just as a drop of water falling into an ocean will not be exhausted until the ocean is exhausted, likewise, virtues dedicated to enlightenment are not exhausted until enlightenment is attained.

May all good merit that comes from this site go towards the benefit of all sentient beings.

  1.     Back in the day, people stayed where they were, not knowing anything else; they walked but did not know where they were going; filled themselves with food and were happy slapping their bellies to show their contentment. This was what people had. Then came the sage. He brought the cringing and grovelling of the rituals and music and infected all under Heaven with his offer of benevolence and righteousness, which he said would comfort the hearts of all.
As a result the people desired and longed for knowledge, and warred against each other to gain advantage. Nothing could stop them. All this was the fault of the Sage.
-Chaung Tzu

  5. For it is behind the mystery of the presence of personality in an apparently impersonal universe- as in that of consciousness manifesting in the Inconscient, life out of the inanimate, soul out of brute matter- that is hidden the solution of the riddle of existence.

  9. A joke

A father walks into his kitchen and sees his young daughter scribbling purposely upon a large piece of paper with her crayons. “What are you up to over there,” he asked. “Please don’t talk to me right now daddy. I’m drawing God,” she said without looking up from her drawing. The father walked over to his daughter “but honey, no one has ever seen God before.” She sighed heavily “well if you stop bothering me for a few minutes I will show you what it looks like.” :)

  10. His spirits stillness helped the toiling world.
Inspired by stillness and the closed eyes’ sight
His force could work with a new luminous art
On the crude material from which all is made.

  11. more on attachment…

One who has had the revelation of his psychic centre ( refering here to the part of our being that innately understands our connection to everything of the universe), listening sometime to music, will say: music, nothing but music is true divine down here; another who has felt his soul in the immensity of the ocean will make a religion of the open sea; and another still will say: my prophet, my chapel, my gospel. And each builds his construction around a core experience. But the psychic is free, marvelously free of all things; it needs nothing to survive…

    -The Adventure of Conciousness

  12. Spiritual Materialism

To become attached to the thoughts, teachers, mantras, meditational techniques, prayers, symbols… etc… is something that is as dangerous to the development of our spirit as any other attachment. Many teachers warn against this, to name a few major figures:

Buddha equated his teachings to a raft to be abandoned once its functions have been served, Jesus told the pharasees that g_d resides within us and not in the churches of man, and the Hindus believe nothing to be outside of g_d then making everything of equal value to the seeker.

It is about evolution, about using the work of our brothers and sisters of spirit of the past to accelerate us not to where they got in their seeking, but rather, to launch us past them, bringing us ever closer to the divine.

    May all beings find happiness.

  14. As we progress and awaken to the soul in us and things, we shall realise that there is consciousness in the plant, the metal, in the atom, in electricity, in everything that belongs to physical nature; we shall find even that it is not really in all respects a lower or more limited mode than the mental; on the contrary, it is in many “inanimate” forms more intense, rapid, poignant, though less evolved towards the surface.
-Sri Aurobindo
